Swim Safe at Spring Lakes Water Sports Centre

Swim Safe sessions are delivered by Bluetonic, a charity dedicated to encouraging people to be active in, on, or around blue spaces. Through a wide range of activities, Bluetonic supports people’s physical and mental wellbeing. You can find out more about the charity at www.bluetonic.org.uk.

Our Swim Safe sessions are kindly hosted at Spring Lakes Water Sports Centre – a beautiful open water venue fed by natural springs, helping to maintain consistently good water quality.

Venue Information

When you arrive at Spring Lakes, please walk past reception and turn right. Swim Safe sessions take place at the far end of the beach area.

For comfort and safety, we recommend wearing old trainers or swimming shoes during the session, as there may be fresh oyster shells underfoot which could cause small cuts.

Parking

Spring Lakes has onsite parking for approximately 200 vehicles. On busier days, particularly during warm weather, parking may be directed to an additional overflow area located a short walk from the main site. To help ensure you arrive in plenty of time for your session, please allow extra time for parking during peak periods.

Getting Here by Public Transport

If you are travelling by public transport, the nearest bus stop is on Manor House Road, just under a 1-mile walk from the venue.

The nearest train stations are:

Long Eaton Station – approximately 2 miles away on foot
Attenborough Station – approximately 2.4 miles away, with a walking route through the nature reserve
