Bournemouth

Wave 23 are a group of open water coaches based further along the bay. Their passion for helping people to enjoy the open water safely, has led them to join forces with the Swim Safe team to bring the programme back to Bournemouth this summer.

This was only possible, thanks to The Billy Lardner Legacy. They have funded this year's project in Bournemouth, enabling the return of Swim Safe to the area. This very special, local charity set up in Billy's name, uses its funds to support local projects that help children grow and prosper, giving them opportunities to enjoy life as Billy did.

To register your arrival, please look out for Swim Safe representatives in front of The Environment Hub, on the beach, arriving 5 mins before your booked slot.

Access to the site is by foot along the promenade.

Car park is available 100 metres from the beach. There is also free parking along the roads at the top, please adhere to local parking restrictions.

Local bus route stops here, please visit Morebus for timetable. The nearest train station is Bournemouth (2.2 miles).

Public toilets/Accessible Toilets/Showers are available on the beach. Outdoor cold showers are available on the promenade

No dogs are allowed on the beach.

Refreshments are available from nearby beach cafe, pub and kiosks along the promenade. And there are drinking water stations located nearby.

RNLI Lifeguards and Beach Office are also located nearby.

Cycling - there are seasonal restrictions currently in place. Please check before setting out.

Accessibility
There are wheelchair-accessible toilets at Chineside, next to the Durley Chine beach office.

There are also 2 accessible toilets at The Environmental Hub at Durley Chine, 100 metres east of the car park. One of the accessible toilets also has baby changing facilities. Access to the toilets is from the accessibility ramp to the west of The Environmental Hub building.
