Harwich, Dovercourt Bay Beach

Swim Safe is being supported by Harwich Haven Authority. There are both schools and public sessions on offer at this site. Public sessions will be made bookable 6 weeks prior to them taking place. To book a schools session please contact [email protected]. Public sessions will be available from Wednesday 30th August to Saturday 2nd September.

The site is roughly 200m along the beach from Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles Swimming Pool.

By car - from A120 follow directions to Blue Flag Award Beach
By rail - the closest train station is Dovercourt station roughly 1.5 miles from the site

Free parking is available on the road with plenty of spaces opposite the pitch and putt green.

There are public toilets available, but no private changing or shower facilities on the beach.

Refreshments are available at The Blue Flag Café opposite the site and the Rainbow Café which can be found 250m away.

Dogs are not permitted on some areas of the beach.

Harwich Haven Authority supports many community initiatives within the Dovercourt and Harwich area and is delighted to be involved with Swim Safe during the summer of 2023.
